Oyo Assembly want government to reverse decision on removing subvention from state owned institutions

Oyo state house of Assembly has appealed the executive arm of the state to review their position on the removal of subvention from state owned tertiary institutions

 The appeal followed the motion moved by chairman house committee on Education science and technology Hon Afeez Adeleke in which he state that most of the institution cannot survive without the support of government

 Hon Adeleke said noted that the house passes 75 percent subvention for the state owned institution and wonder why the change of plan without due recourse to the state house of Assembly,

Hon Segun Ajanaku while speaking on the issue said the institutions should look  inward into how to increase the IGR in running the affairs of the institution suggesting that there should be increase in tuition fees  

Hon Olaleye  popularly known as radical brother said the  government should not shift its failure in responsibility on the masses who are already suffering the economic downturn in the nation.
He said further that “ it is the responsibility of the government to give qualitative education  to people up till tertiary institutions.


 The speaker Hon Michael Adeyemo however call on the state government to reverse the decision and release the subvention to the institutions for stability and development for effective  operation of the schools.
