It was gathered that during a gun battle with policemen, one of the robbers was killed while others escaped from the scene of the incident.
There was an unprecedented crowd at the Egbeda Police Divisional Headquarters, Gbagi Ibadan as residents of the state especially people around Ogungbade area of the state to catch a glimpse of one of the robbers that raided the community early this morning.
It was gathered that the robbery gang stormed Ogungbade community in Egbeda Local Government this morning around 2am and raided some houses in the area where some valuables were snatched at gunpoint.
Luck however ran out on the gang when policemen from the Egbeda Police Divisional Headquarters, Gbagi responded to distress call stormed the area and engaged the gang in a gun battle during which one of the robbers was killed and others escaped with bullet wound.
The Police Public Relations Officer for the Command, Dsp Adekunle Ajisebutu said the gang had been terrorising residents of the comunity before the long arm of the law caught up with them.
While commending residents of the state for their support for the Command, Ajisebutu said the command has commenced for the remaining members of the gang calling for the support of the people in this regard.
Some of the victims of the incident narrate their ordeals in the hands of the robbers.
The remains of the robber has therefore been moved out of the station for necessary action.
